For those arriving by car:

The Hotel can be reached by car right to the entrance. We recommend that you download the map from this page of the website before you set out, and follow the directions that will lead you to the Hotel.
We would warn you that a number of navigational systems are out of date, and that current one-way systems may be changed.
At your arrival, our staff will park your car in the garage with which the Hotel has a special arrangement, and will obtain a temporary retrospective permit granting access by car to the historic centre of the city. It is not necessary to book a parking place or to let us know your number plate in advance. This can be done when you arrive at the Hotel.


Important information:

The Hotel is in a pedestrian street inside the Limited Traffic Zone, but cars can arrive at the doorstep.
You cannot leave your car parked in Piazza Antinori or in the neighbouring streets.
The Hotel De La Ville offers a parking service at a garage with which the Hotel has a special arrangement, and our staff will take your car there and deliver it back to you whenever you wish. Please note that approximately 15-20 minutes should be allowed for us to pick up your car when you arrive at the Hotel and to take it to the garage, and to deliver it back to you whenever you so request.
Access to the historic centre of Florence is controlled by CCTV cameras and is only permitted to authorised vehicles. Vehicles owned by clients of the Hotel De La Ville (cars, motorbikes, minivans) count as authorised vehicles that can be driven within the Limited Traffic Zone. Authorisation is given once the vehicle's number plate has been communicated via the Internet. This must be done within two hours of passing under the CCTV cameras. Communication of the number plate is effected by Hotel staff, not by the drivers themselves.
Our guests are allowed to drive in the Limited Traffic Zone for the sole purpose of arriving at and leaving the Hotel. It is also necessary to communicate the number plates of cars that are not parked in the garage with which the Hotel has a special arrangement. The permit is valid for a single access to the Zone. It is thus necessary to communicate the number plate each time the vehicle enters the Limited Traffic Zone when returning to the Hotel and passing under the CCTV cameras. Failure to do so will result in a fine that is not open to challenge.
